Detail specifications are subject to change before production starts. Spring rates and Pro-Link linkages may be different when the CX500 Turbo hits the streets en masse, if a production run of one-perHonda-dealer can be called en masse. If the production models are even close to the prototypes, the CX500 Turbo will be amazing.
Featured Listing: 1982 Honda CX500 Turbo! Starting with the rather pedestrian CX500 standard/cruiser power plant, Honda introduce forged pistons into the the Moto-Guzzi like transverse vee. Unlike most vee configurations, this one splayed 80 degrees rather than the usual 90. This engine already had liquid cooling and four valve heads (operated Honda tried the 1982-83 CX500 and CX650, Kawasaki the 1984-85 ZX750E1, Yamaha the 1982-83 XJ650LJ Seca, and Suzuki the rare XN85 (300 units in 1983). The Honda CX500 and CX650 seem like an unlikely base for a performance bike. The CX500 was a 497 cc shaft-drive, water-cooled, cross-frame 80-degree V-twin developing 50 bhp and weighing in at 496 wm4VkU.
